Guerra de sucesión de Yatengan (1754-1757), tras la muerte de Naaba ("rey") Piiyo de Yatenga (actual Burkina Faso ) entre su hermano Naaba Kango y su primo Naaba Wobgho. Poco después de la ascensión de Kango al trono, Wobgho lo obligó a exiliarse, pero en 1757 Kango regresó con tropas de Barbara con fusiles de chispa (el primer uso registrado de armas de fuego en Yatenga) y ganó la guerra. Guerra civil tripolitana (1790-1795), tras el asesinato del bey Hasan de Trípoli . Implicó una guerra de sucesión entre los principales miembros de la dinastía Karamanli , una intervención del oficial otomano Ali Burghul , que afirmó estar actuando bajo las órdenes del sultán y controló Trípoli durante 17 meses, y una intervención del bey de Túnez Hammuda ibn Ali para restaurar el poder a los Karamanli.
