Los lores comisionados del Almirantazgo eran los miembros de la Junta del Almirantazgo , que ejercía el cargo de Lord Gran Almirante cuando no estaba investido en una sola persona. Los comisionados eran una mezcla de políticos sin experiencia naval y oficiales navales profesionales, y la proporción de oficiales navales generalmente aumentaba con el tiempo.
