Throughout her career, she has modeled in campaigns for designers including Stuart Weitzman, Louis Vuitton, Narciso Rodriguez, Alexander McQueen, Tory Burch, and Ralph Lauren. Campbell was born in Westminster, London. She is the daughter of Colin Campbell, 7th Earl Cawdor and Lady Isabella Stanhope, a former British Vogue editor and daughter of William Stanhope, 11th Earl of Harrington.[2] She has three younger siblings.
Campbell was first scouted to be a model at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham when she was 12. She initially declined, but changed her mind when she was 14.[3] She landed her first job with British Vogue after sitting her GCSEs.[4] Her second job was a Burberry campaign.[5][6]
Campbell appeared in a Stuart Weitzman advertisement with Kendall Jenner, Willow Smith, and Yang Mi.[7] She has appeared in Louis Vuitton advertisements and runway shows.[8] Campbell has been the face of "for her" by Narciso Rodriguez.[9] She has also appeared in advertisements for Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta, Tory Burch, Carolina Herrera, G-Star Raw, David Yurman, Ralph Lauren, and Zara.
Campbell ranked as a "Top 50" model by models.com,[10] and ranked on their "Money Girls" list.[11]
Campbell is based in East London. Campbell had an accident when she was 12. She developed chronic pain from hip dysplasia.[3] In March 2023, she revealed that shortly after undergoing one of her multiple hip surgeries, she was told she was "too big" to model for a major fashion brand.[12]
Opening Nicolas Ghesquière's second ready-to-wear show for Louis Vuitton among digital on-screen avatars is the kind of runway moment which would be a major marker in any career, let alone one that's just beginning. Cherry-picked by Dazed casting director Noah Shelley as one of his ones to watch for SS15, the Scottish teen has already been shot by the likes of Bruce Weber and Paolo Roversi, and is one of the most exciting new British faces in seasons.
An aristocratic beauty for the ages, Jean Campbell calls to mind sixties favorites like Twiggy with her wide eyes and innate cuteness. Fashion's bigwigs have certainly taken note, with Nicolas Ghesquire selecting Jean for his debut campaign for Louis Vuitton.
