Por este motivo, no suele ser adecuada para textos de artículos y está destinada a fines especializados. Se utiliza principalmente en otras plantillas para corregir entradas con mayúsculas o minúsculas mixtas.
Se han desarrollado otras plantillas para manejar contenido que debe permanecer en minúsculas o con mayúsculas y minúsculas mixtas, como se detalla en § Usos obsoletos, a continuación.

Esta plantilla solo debe utilizarse para texto que normalmente está escrito en minúsculas, independientemente del estilo tipográfico, pero que se desea que aparezca en mayúsculas pequeñas para fines de visualización. Un ejemplo es la indicación de sílabas acentuadas en la plantilla {{ Respell }} .
También es capaz de mostrar mayúsculas y minúsculas con parámetros adicionales, pero rara vez se necesita para este propósito ya que {{ Smallcaps }} y {{ Smallcaps2 }} lo hacen de manera más robusta.
El parámetro predeterminado de esta plantilla nunca debe utilizarse para cadenas que deban estar en mayúsculas independientemente del estilo tipográfico, como las siglas.
