La Primera División Nacional 2008-09 fue la 22.ª temporada completa de rugby union dentro de la segunda división del sistema de liga inglés, actualmente conocido como RFU Championship . Leeds Carnegie se unió a la Primera División Nacional, tras haber descendido de la Guinness Premiership después de la temporada 2007-08.
