UK industry association
El Television and Radio Industries Club (conocido como TRIC ) es una institución británica fundada en 1931 para "promover la buena voluntad en las industrias de la televisión y la radio". El Club celebra una ceremonia anual de premios en honor a los logros en televisión y radio. [1]
Los miembros provienen de los sectores de comunicación, entretenimiento, fabricación, seguros de garantía y servicios, desde creadores de programas y emisoras hasta productores y realizadores de radio.
Presidente del TRIC
La presidencia del TRIC es un cargo honorario que suele tener un mandato fijo de un año. Durante las primeras décadas de su existencia, los presidentes del TRIC provenían principalmente de pioneros de la industria de la televisión y la radio o del mundo de la política. La década de 1970 marcó un cambio y un período en el que se nombraron numerosos ejecutivos de la industria de la radiodifusión. La década de 1990 fue testigo de otro cambio con nombramientos provenientes del mundo del entretenimiento popular. Premios TRIC
Los premios TRIC se otorgan anualmente y desde 2019 los ganadores se deciden mediante votación pública a partir de una lista de nominaciones predeterminadas dentro de varias categorías. [4]
Tradicionalmente, la ceremonia de entrega de premios se ha celebrado en el Grosvenor House Hotel de Londres desde que se celebró allí el primer almuerzo de entrega de premios en abril de 1969, cuando se entregaron tres premios a Val Doonican , Kenneth Horne y The Forsyte Saga . [5] En 2021, debido a las restricciones de la COVID-19 , los premios se entregaron en septiembre en lugar de su fecha habitual de marzo y en el número 8 de Northumberland Avenue, cerca de Trafalgar Square, con una transmisión en vivo complementaria. Desde 1992 ha sido el honor del presidente de TRIC ser el anfitrión de la ceremonia de premios, las únicas excepciones recientes fueron la ceremonia de 2009, cuando Bill Turnbull intervino en nombre de Sian Williams, que estaba de baja por maternidad, y en 2021, cuando Roman Kemp fue el anfitrión en lugar del entonces presidente John Barrowman.
