Yogendra Yadav was informally and occasionally called Salim in his early childhood days as per the reliable sources provided in the article refs. But, is it appropriate to include the words AKA Salim in the lead para? Harsh (talk) 11:39, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've now amended the wording. hopefully, it makes this RfC redundant. - Sitush (talk) 16:33, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

People are stll removing the "Salim" material, many of them appearing to claim that they are doing so under instruction or with the support of Yadav himself. They need to read WP:COI and WP:CENSORED, I think, but if someone can convince me that the material does in fact violate WP:BLP then fair enough. I happen to think that it is relevant, neutrally-phrased information about his early life and that it comes from the horse's mouth. - Sitush (talk) 07:57, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sitush, one of the sources we've used here quotes him "It was supposed to be an accorded secret within my family and never meant to come out in public". Another quotes a friend, "Salim is Yadav’s nickname and only his most intimate family calls him that. He would never advertise it."
If he has explicitly stated that he is uncomfortable with being publicly identified by this name, I think we should respect his wishes.—indopug (talk) 14:39, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. Consensus says otherwise. - Sitush (talk) 23:31, 4 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
What consensus? I see three supporters (including myself) of the removal above, and only two for its inclusion.—indopug (talk) 02:07, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:CONSENSUS is not a vote but based on policy arguments. The issue was recently settled and there is no need to re-open it. He has publicly acknowledged it and it was his birthname. - Sitush (talk) 16:26, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Psephologist in lead section

@Sitush: , "psephologist" may be reinserted in the lead section. Even before Yogendra joined mainstream politics, he was a known election analyst. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChunnuBhai (talk • contribs) 14:33, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. My mistake, sorry. - Sitush (talk) 14:56, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Charliehdb (talk) 09:35, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
