This is the WikiProject banner template used by WikiProject Hinduism to keep track of articles within its scope.

Basic usage

Place this on the talk page of relevant articles:

Full usage

It is usual to remove any unused parameters from the template call.

Parameters

• category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.
• listas – this parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for John Smith, use |listas=Smith, John so that the talk page will show up in the Smith's and not the John's of the various assessment and administrative categories. Similarly, for topics with titles beginning with an article such as "the" or "a" - e.g. for The Matrix, use |listas=Matrix, The so that the talk page will show up in the Matrix's. This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people#Ordering names in a category. It is not required if another WikiProject template on the same page has its own {{para|listas}} set, since it affects the sortkey of all banners and templates.

• importance – see #Importance assessment below.

Task forces

• phil – set |phil=yes if the article is supported by the Philosophy task force. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Hindu philosophy articles by quality based on the |class= parameter. This parameter uses |importance= to populate the relevant subcategory of Category:Hindu philosophy articles by importance.
• saivism – set |saivism=yes if the article is supported by the Shaivism task force. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Shaivism articles by quality based on the |class= parameter. This parameter uses |importance= to populate the relevant subcategory of Category:Shaivism articles by importance.
• krishna – set |krishna=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Krishnaism. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Krishnaism articles by quality based on the |class= parameter. This parameter uses |importance= to populate the relevant subcategory of Category:Krishnaism articles by importance.
• swaminarayan – set |swaminarayan=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Swaminarayan. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Swaminarayan articles by quality based on the |class= parameter. This parameter uses |importance= to populate the relevant subcategory of Category:Swaminarayan articles by importance.
• Shaktism – set |Shaktism=yes if the article is supported by the Shaktism task force. This parameter uses |importance= to populate the relevant subcategory of Category:Shaktism articles by importance.

Classification based on class parameter

Classification of redirects and disambiguation pages

If the |class= parameter is not defined and the WikiProject banner is placed on the talk page of a redirect (in any namespace) or disambigation page then it will automatically be classified as follows:

• Redirects will automatically be classified as Redirect-class and placed in Category:Redirect-Class Hinduism articles.
• Disambiguation pages will automatically be classified as Disambig-class and placed in Category:Disambig-Class Hinduism articles.

Classification based on namespace

In addition, if |class= is empty, undefined or unrecognized, then the class will be deduced from the namespace of the page when possible.In all other circumstances, articles will be classed as Unassessed and placed in Category:Unassessed Hinduism articles.

Importance assessment

This project uses the standard importance scale. Valid values are shown below.
