Tom and Jerry: Yankee Doodle's CAT-astrophe

Tom and Jerry: Yankee Doodle's CAT-astrophe is a 1990 side-scrolling video game based on the classic animated series Tom and Jerry. The game was developed by the American game developer Hi-Tech Expressions for personal computers with the MS-DOS operating system. It was one of the first video games based on the animated series.

Gameplay

In the game, the player can play either Tom the cat or Jerry the mouse. During the game Tom constantly attempts to capture Jerry in a basement. The game was loosely based on the 1943 Tom and Jerry episode "The Yankee Doodle Mouse".[2] Jerry is able to trick Tom using various traps and gadgets, such as throwing eggs at Tom, dropping light bulbs on his head from a small plane, run him over with a little car, throwing dynamite at him, or by stabbing him with a knitting needle.[2]

The game includes both a single-player game option and a multiplayer game option that allows two players to compete against each other.[citation needed]
