The Southern Star era un periódico quincenal en idioma inglés publicado los miércoles y sábados en Bega, Nueva Gales del Sur , Australia. ^[1] Anteriormente se publicaba como The Bega Gazette y County of Auckland Advertiser , y The Bega Gazette y Eden District o Southern Coast Advertiser . ^[2]

Historia del periódico

The Bega Gazette and County of Auckland Advertiser, también conocido como The Bega Gazette, fue un periódico semanal publicado por primera vez en diciembre de 1864 por el propietario RW Sharpe. ^[3] El 1 de julio de 1865, el mástil cambió a The Bega Gazette and Eden District o South Coast Advertiser . ^[4] En 1900, Tarlington y Smith compraron The Bega Gazette a William Henry Braine y cambiaron inmediatamente el nombre a The Southern Star . ^[5] El periódico se fusionó con Bega Standard y Bega Budget para formar Bega District News el 2 de octubre de 1923. ^[1]
