The Barkleys es una serie de televisión animada estadounidenseque se emitió en 1972 en NBC y fue producida por DePatie–Freleng Enterprises . [1]
Premisa
Inspirándose en la comedia de CBS All in the Family , [2] la caricatura presenta una familia antropomórfica de perros formada por Arnie, un conductor de autobús (con la voz de Henry Corden ) y su esposa Agnes (con la voz de Joan Gerber ). Tenían dos adolescentes, Terry y Roger (con la voz de Julie McWhirter y Steve Lewis respectivamente) y un hijo menor, Chester (con la voz de Gene Andrusco ). [3]
La letra del tema principal terminaba con el consejo: "Solo recuerda que el ladrido de Arnie Barkley es peor que su mordisco". El tema principal de Doug Goodwin utilizó parte de "(Be It Ever So Humble) There's No Place Like Home".

The series was broadcast by NBC from September 9 to December 2, 1972. NBC continued to air reruns until September 1, 1973. Only 13 episodes were produced.
Home Media Releases
Despite the series falling into the public domain in the 2000s (due to then-owner Marvel Productions, who acquired DePatie-Freleng Enterprises, failing to renew the copyright in time), there wouldn't be any home media releases until October 2015, when Film Chest Media Group released The Barkleys and The Houndcats – 2 DVD Classic Animation Set on DVD in Region 1.[4] This collection features all 13 episodes of the series on DVD.
