Coleman played in the first four games of the 2020 season at TCU before his year ended due to injury.[3] He became a starter in 2021, finishing the season with 11 games played, eight as a starter.[6] He started all 15 games in 2022 and helped the team have one of the best offenses nationally while reaching the national championship, being named honorable mention All-Big 12 Conference.[4][6] Entering the 2023 season, Coleman was named to The Athletic's "Freaks" list, which noted that the 6 foot 6 inches, 320-pound Coleman "has an impressive 35-inch vertical jump and regularly runs 18 [miles-per-hour]. He squats 600 pounds, benches 400, and power-cleans 375."[7] He was selected team captain and started 11 games, being named second-team All-Big 12 and an honorable mention for conference lineman of the year while allowing only one sack.[6] He was invited to play in the 2024 Senior Bowl.[8]
