Laurent Mailhot

Laurent Mailhot (22 September 1931 – 4 January 2021) was a Canadian historian, writer, professor, essayist, and literary critic.

Biography

Born in Saint-Alexis on 22 September 1931, Mailhot studied at the Séminaire de Joliette.[1] He earned a master's degree from the Université de Montréal and a doctorate from the University of Grenoble. He began teaching at the Université de Montréal in 1963.[2] He was an editor at the journal Études françaises from 1979 to 1987.[3]

Laurent Mailhot died in Trois-Rivières on 4 January 2021 at the age of 89.[4]
