Global Chess League

The Global Chess League (also known as Tech Mahindra Global Chess League) is an over-the-board rapid chess league comprising six franchises that compete over a period of two weeks. It is a joint venture between Tech Mahindra and FIDE.[2] Teams have six players each.

The inaugural season took place in Dubai from June 21 to July 2, 2023. It involved ten round-robin matches, followed by a final match between the top two teams.[3] The event came down to a round of individual tie-breaks drawn by playing card. Triveni Continental Kings won the event after Jonas Buhl Bjerre beat Javokhir Sindarov in the fourth tie-break game, the first three being drawn.[4]
