Dorothy Savile, vizcondesa Halifax ( de soltera Spencer ; 1640 [1] - 16 de diciembre de 1670) fue la primera esposa de George Savile, primer vizconde Halifax , y la madre del segundo marqués .
Dorothy era la hija de Henry Spencer, primer conde de Sunderland , y su esposa, la ex Lady Dorothy Sidney (o Sydney) . [2]
Lady Dorothy se casó con George Savile el 29 de diciembre de 1656, en St Giles in the Fields , Londres. [3] Tuvieron dos hijos:
En 1667, George Savile fue nombrado vizconde de Halifax . Tras la muerte de su esposa, se volvió a casar en 1672; su segunda esposa fue Gertrude Pierrepont, hija de William Pierrepont de Thoresby. Su ascenso al título de marqués de Halifax se produjo en 1682, algunos años después de la muerte de Dorothy. [5]
